Remortgage leads are enquiries from existing UK homeowners who want to move their mortgage to a new deal — usually because a fixed rate is ending, they have drifted onto their lender's standard variable rate, or they want to borrow more. They are the most predictable mortgage lead type to buy: the consumer already has a mortgage, has a date-driven reason to act, and does not need to find a property first. This guide covers what you should pay, what the lead should contain, the conversion rate you can realistically expect, and how to test a supplier before committing. We sell remortgage leads ourselves, so read the pricing section with that in mind — the rest applies to any provider.

What is a remortgage lead?

A remortgage lead is the contact details and basic mortgage circumstances of a homeowner who has asked to speak to a broker about switching their mortgage. In practice the consumer has completed a form on a comparison or advice website, or responded to an advert, and confirmed their phone number. The lead is then sent to a broker — ideally to one broker only.

Remortgage leads fall into three broad groups, and the mix matters for how you work them:

  • Rate-switchers: a fixed or tracker deal is ending within the next six months. These are the most time-sensitive and the easiest to convert, because the consumer has a deadline.
  • SVR escapees: the deal has already ended and the consumer is paying the lender's standard variable rate. Typically 30-40% of remortgage enquiries. Urgency is high but the consumer sometimes has a reason they did not switch earlier (credit, affordability, inertia) that you need to uncover on the first call.
  • Further-advance and capital-raise: the consumer wants to borrow more against the property for home improvements, debt consolidation or a deposit for a family member. Larger loan sizes, more advice needed, and often a second-charge or product-transfer alternative to consider.

What do remortgage leads cost in the UK?

Exclusive, SMS-verified remortgage leads cost between £10 and £35 in the UK in 2026. Lurvo Digital's remortgage leads start at £10, with the price rising toward £30-£35 only when you add tight filters such as a minimum property value, a specific postcode area, or a minimum outstanding balance. Shared or marketplace remortgage leads are sold for £8-£20 but go to three to five brokers at once.

Remortgage sits at the cheaper end of mortgage lead pricing for a simple reason: supply. Over a million UK fixed-rate deals end every year, so the pool of people searching for a better rate is large and constant. That keeps cost per lead low without meaning the leads are weak — the opposite, in fact, because the consumer has a concrete reason to act.

Price per lead is the wrong number to optimise. A £12 lead that converts at 14% costs you £86 per completed case; a £8 shared lead converting at 5% costs £160. Always compare suppliers on cost per application or completion. For the full pricing breakdown see how much remortgage leads cost.

What should a remortgage lead include?

At a minimum a usable remortgage lead should contain: full name, SMS-verified mobile number, email, postcode, current lender, approximate property value, approximate outstanding balance, the month the current deal ends (or confirmation the consumer is on SVR), and whether they want to borrow more. Employment status and a self-reported credit position are useful extras.

The single most valuable field is the deal-end date. It tells you which leads to call first, lets you time a follow-up for consumers who are more than six months out, and separates genuine rate-switchers from people who are idly comparing. Ask any prospective supplier for a sample lead and check this field is present and populated — a remortgage lead without it is really just a mortgage lead.

Every lead you receive from Lurvo Digital includes all of the above; the full specification is on the remortgage leads page.

What conversion rate should I expect from remortgage leads?

Brokers on our platform convert exclusive remortgage leads to completed cases at a median of around 14%, with the top quarter above 20% and the bottom quarter around 7%. Contact rate — the share of leads you actually reach within a week — runs at about 83% for remortgage, the highest of any mortgage lead type we supply. These figures come from our 2026 benchmark data, which is drawn from more than 165,000 delivered leads.

The spread between 7% and 20% is almost entirely down to the broker, not the leads. Two things explain most of it: how fast you make the first call, and how many times you follow up. Brokers who call within five minutes convert at roughly double the rate of those who call after an hour. Brokers who make six to eight attempts across phone, SMS and email convert at roughly double the rate of those who make one or two.

Why remortgage leads convert better than purchase leads

Three reasons. First, there is no property chain: the consumer does not need to find a house, have an offer accepted, or wait for a seller, so the case can complete in four to eight weeks. Second, the consumer has a hard deadline — the day their rate ends — which stops cases drifting. Third, the affordability case is usually already proven, because the consumer has been paying a mortgage on the same property for years.

The trade-off is case value. Remortgage loan sizes are typically a little lower than purchase loans, and proc fees of 0.3-0.4% mean a £180,000 remortgage pays £540-£720. Brokers who charge a modest client fee and attach protection on the back of the rate review take that to £1,200-£2,000 per case. Our remortgage specialist case study walks through how one firm built an £18,000-a-month pipeline on exactly that model.

A 4-week test plan before you scale

Do not buy 200 leads from a new supplier. Buy 40-60 over four weeks and measure. The process below is what we recommend to every new client, and it is what separates brokers who make remortgage leads work from those who conclude leads do not work.

  1. Week 0 — prepare. Set up a tracking sheet with one row per lead: received time, first-call time, contacted (yes/no), appointment (yes/no), application (yes/no), outcome. Write a 30-second opening script that references the consumer's deal-end date. Make sure new-lead alerts reach your phone, not just your inbox.
  2. Weeks 1-2 — work every lead the same way. Call within 15 minutes in working hours. If no answer, send a short SMS introducing yourself and saying you will try again. Call again the next morning, email that afternoon, and make a final call on day three. Log everything.
  3. Weeks 3-4 — keep going and start measuring. By the end of week four you will have contact rate, appointment rate and application rate on 40-60 leads. That is enough to be meaningful.
  4. Decide on cost per application. Divide total lead spend by applications submitted. If it is comfortably below a third of your average case revenue, scale. If not, look at your first-call time before blaming the supplier.

Lurvo Digital will set you up with a 10-20 lead test batch on this basis with no contract — get in touch and tell us the areas you cover.

Red flags when buying remortgage leads

  • The supplier will not say whether the lead is exclusive or shared.
  • No deal-end date or current-lender field on the sample lead.
  • Prices under £8 for leads described as exclusive and verified — the economics do not work, so something is missing.
  • A minimum contract term or minimum monthly spend.
  • A refund policy that requires call logs or recordings before a replacement is issued.
  • Vague answers about where the leads come from. A genuine provider can tell you which channels and websites generate them.

Why 2026 is a good year to buy remortgage leads

Millions of UK households fixed at very low rates in 2020-2022 and have been coming off those deals in waves. UK Finance put the number of fixed-rate deals ending at roughly 1.6 million in 2024 and around 1.8 million in 2025, and lenders expect a similar scale through 2026 as two-year fixes taken in 2024 mature alongside the tail of five-year fixes from 2021. Many of those borrowers are facing a payment increase of several hundred pounds a month and are actively looking for advice. Our fixed-rate expiry analysis covers the numbers and what they mean for brokers in more detail.

For most brokers the practical question is not whether there is demand, but whether they can respond to it fast enough. If you can, remortgage leads at £10-£20 are the most reliable pipeline you can buy.
